Religious Education is available to everyone at Saint Rose of Lima, ages three – adulthood. Registration begins after spring break every year, and classes begin the last week of August, usually coinciding with the Northside School District calendar.
Preschool (Ages 4‑5): Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 11:00 am. Children become more aware of God’s love for them through Bible stories, songs and activities.
Grades 1‑8: Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are some middle school classes held on Sunday mornings.
High School: Classes are held on Sundays after the evening Mass.
Adult Religious Education: Special spiritual and personal growth opportunities are available to adults in the parish through the participation in Bible Study classes, small group discussion, and prayer groups. Special courses and missions are usually offered during Advent and Lent.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.): Any adult interested in becoming a member of the Catholic Church, please contact the Religious Education Office to register and let us know who you are. The R.C.I.A. is a process that invites the baptized and unbaptized, non‑Catholic and Catholic adults, who have questions about Catholicism, to “Come and See…” with others who may have similar questions. The process is individualized as much as possible to meet one’s needs and life experiences; it is celebrated both by the individual and the parish community. An individual progresses along stages based upon personal readiness, pastoral, and community approval leading to baptism for full communion with the Catholic Church.
